Our Approach

At Nara Studio, we design considered essentials intended for regular wear. If something isn’t right with your order, we’re here to help — within the boundaries of hygiene, fairness, and Australian Consumer Law.

Returns Eligibility

Due to hygiene considerations, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind on items that have been worn, washed, or used.

However, you are entitled to a return, replacement, or refund if an item:

  • is faulty
  • is damaged on arrival
  • is incorrect (not what you ordered)
  • does not match the description provided on our site

This policy operates in line with Australian Consumer Law, which provides guarantees that cannot be excluded.

Damaged, Faulty, or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order upon delivery and contact us within 7 days of receiving your item if it is faulty, damaged, or incorrect.

To request a return, please email hello@narastudio.com.au with:

  • your order number
  • a brief description of the issue
  • clear photos where applicable

If your return is approved, we will provide instructions on how to return the item. Return shipping costs will be covered by Nara Studio for faulty or incorrect items.

Items sent back without prior approval will not be accepted.

Change of Mind

We do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges for change of mind, including:

  • incorrect colour selection
  • incorrect size selection
  • personal preference
  • items purchased during promotions or with applied discounts

We encourage careful selection before placing your order. Product imagery, descriptions, and FAQs are designed to support informed choice.

Condition of Returned Items

Where a return is approved, items must be:

  • unused and unworn
  • unwashed
  • in original condition
  • returned with original packaging

We reserve the right to decline returns that do not meet these conditions.

Refunds

Once your return has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.

If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow:

  • up to 5 business days for us to process the refund
  • additional time for your bank or payment provider to reflect the funds

Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless the item is faulty or incorrect.

New Zealand Orders

For orders shipped to New Zealand:

  • the same returns criteria apply
  • customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty or incorrect
  • original shipping fees and any customs charges are non-refundable

Australian Consumer Law

This policy does not exclude or replace your rights under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund for major faults, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
